2026-2027 Competition Teams
The Dancer’s Edge offers a range of performance and competition options for the dancer looking to advance their dance experience with additional performance opportunities. From dancers who perform in the community, or compete in only one style, to dancers who compete in 5+ styles, we have something for everyone! Our Competition Teams are available by audition only! Auditions are held annually in May.
Our Performance Jazz Programs are a non-competitive option for dancers looking for more performance opportunities. Dancers perform 3 times in the community in the months of January-May, as well as participating in the recital.
Mini Company: The Dancer's Edge Mini Company is ideal for dancers ages 4 to 8 years old. Mini Company dancers compete in one Jazz dance at 3 local competitions. Our Mini Company dancers spend 1.75 hours each week in the studio in both Technique and Rehearsal classes.
Petite Company: The Dancer's Edge Petite Company is ideal for dancers ages 6 to 9 years old. Petite Company dancers compete in one Jazz dance at 3 local competitions. Our Petite Company dancers spend 3 hours each week in the studio in both Technique and Rehearsal classes.
Junior Company: The Dancer's Edge Junior Company is ideal for dancers ages 8 to 11 years old. Junior Company dancers compete in Jazz and Tap at 3 competitions (2 local and 1 traveling). Our Junior Company dancers spend 4 hours each week in the studio in both Technique and Rehearsal classes.
Teen Company: The Dancer's Edge Teen Company is ideal for dancers ages 10-16 years old. Teen Company dancers compete in Jazz and Tap at 3 competitions (2 local and 1 traveling). Our Junior Company dancers spend 4 hours each week in the studio in both Technique and Rehearsal classes.
Select Company: The Dancer's Edge Select Company is for dancers 8 & Up with prior competition experience. Select Company dancers compete in a minimum of three dance styles. Select Company dancers are required to compete in Jazz and Tap, and must select one additional style to compete in as well (Lyrical, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Pom). Our Select Company dancers compete at 2 local competitions and 1 traveling competition. Select Company dancers also compete at Nationals Competition in June. Our Select Company dancers spend 6.5 hours each week in the studio in both Technique and Rehearsal classes.
Crew: The Dancer's Edge Crew is for the dancer that is crazy about Hip Hop! Our Junior Crew is ideal for dancers 7-11 and our Senior Crew is for dancers 10-17. Crew dancers compete in one Hip Hop dance at 3 local competitions. Our Crew dancers spend 1.25 hours per week in the studio doing Hip Hop Technique & Hip Hop Rehearsals.
